She will also match your foundation color and make recommendations for your personalized skin care and other makeup options.

AT your shoot…

OR you can have Dawn join you at your shoot to apply your make-up, and make you look your best.

DIY: Update Spring 2013

Here’s a quick update on the DIY Video Club and our plans going forward to provide training and education on creating online videos for business.

Launched back in summer of 2012, we started the DIY club to help educate and train those looking to create videos themselves. We did this by releasing new videos almost every week on varying topics.

Moving Forward: 2013

Moving forward, we’ll be morphing our education/training side into something new.

We’ll still be creating new videos on a regular basis, but we’ll be grouping them together in categories and allowing people to access a set of videos for a one time cost.

We’ll still continue to offer access to our whole library, similar to what the current DIY Video Club is now, but with a new name – coded at the moment simply as “Premium Access.”

With the “Premium Access” you’ll see on your dashboard all the different categories and “sets” of videos listed and available to watch.

In addition, for just the Premium Access members, we’ll be starting a regular Google+ Hangout session so you can ask questions live to one of our video specialists.

So if you are still on the current DIY club membership and you’d like to continue to get “Premium Access” to our whole training library, you don’t need to do a thing. If however, you’d prefer to cancel your account and purchase access to just a set of content we produce, just send us an email.

Leave a comment below or send us a note if you have any questions!

Tips for Creating a Compelling Video Script

A good script is the backbone of a successful video. But if you’ve tried to write one, you might have found that it’s easier said than done. There’s a definite art to putting together even the shortest of scripts—an art you have to master quickly to get the most out of your video investment.

Below are five tips that will help make the scriptwriting process easier and help you avoid some of the most common (and most significant) scriptwriting pitfalls.

 Tip 1: Have a Plan

Before you start writing, take some time to organize your thoughts. First, jot down the things you hope to accomplish with your video. This will give you clarity and help you stay focused on your goal. Next, make a list of the most important points you want to make. Keep the list as short as possible. Finally, create a loose structure for your script–complete with an introduction, body, and conclusion—and decide where in that structure your important information should be placed.

Tip 2: Get to the point. Fast!

In the average web video, you only have seconds to grab your viewers’ attention. Avoid lengthy introductions, anecdotes, or jokes. Get right to the point, and tell your viewer who you are, what you’re about, and why they should choose you. You can add in a little color and detail in the body of your script, but stick to an introduction that’s short, sweet and simple.

 Tip 3: Keep things natural.

You can’t sell yourself—or your message–with a script that feels artificial. Think about the way people speak naturally in professional conversations, and structure your script accordingly. Be warm, genuine and courteous. While you should be enthusiastic about your topic and firm about why you’re the best around, make sure to talk to your viewers rather than at them, and avoid alienating them by using language that’s overly formal, overly technical, or overly assertive.

 Tip 4: Keep things “real.”

Present an honest message that stays true to the style, tone and intent of your brand. Humor, anecdotes, and visuals are great tools you can use to accomplish this. However, avoid overdoing it or resorting to attention-grabbing gimmicks, as they can undermine your credibility.

Tip 5: Stay on Track

Make sure your script has a clear, logical direction and a flow that feels natural. While you can (and should) add a little “personality” into your script to keep it engaging and relatable, keep in mind that everything in your script must directly relate to and support your most important points.

If you still can’t achieve the script that you’re after, or you’d rather not go it alone, consider hiring a professional writer. A good writer can intuitively grasp your message, knows how to achieve the right tone, structure and balance for the content, and will work with you to create a script that suits your individual needs.

The first video is called: “First World Problems” representing WaterIsLife.com with 2 Million+ views.

It has clips of young people and adults stating phrases like, “I hate when my mint gum makes my water too cold.” or “I hate when my phone charger won’t reach my bed.” The juxtaposition between the environment in which the people live and the phrase is the key to the video.

The second video is:  Kony 2012  by Invisible Children Inc.- with 97+ Million views.

From the Invisible Children website:
“The KONY 2012 campaign started as an experiment. Could an online video make an obscure war criminal famous? And if he was famous, would the world work together to stop him? Or would it let him remain at large? The experiment yielded the fastest growing viral video of all time. 3.7 million people pledged their support for efforts to arrest Joseph Kony. … The KONY 2012 experiment sparked more international activity focused on stopping the LRA than ever before. But Kony is still out there.”

The third video is: Drive & Expectations – Jaguar Backseat Stories EP #4 with 47+ thousand views.

Let’s Talk Video: Educational/Informational Videos

From Anthony Robbins’ talk “Why we do what we do.” at over 5million views to Simon Sinek’s TED Talk, “How great leaders inspire action.” at over 1million views, to all the infomercial presenters, social media gurus, and make-a-million-now MLM leaders, VIDEO provides a way to take a message to the world.

This Wednesday, April 17th Let’s Talk Video – popular/viral Educational & Informational Videos

On Wednesday, April 17th – at 9:00AM – watch us on a Google+ Hangout

A panel of experts from a wide background – social media, marketing, creative, and business – will be discussing 2-4 videos:

  • what worked in the video
  • what didn’t work
  • what impact that video might have had
  • how you could replicate it
  • where these videos are being hosted – and why

To make sure we’re comparing apples to apples - we’re looking at similar videos in this category:  videos that are selling some type of online program/service/membership by the founder.*

They each talk about how they’re ordinary people who have learned how to do something special – and they’re now offering access to this “something”.

- the first video is on the home page of Chris Farrell, an internet marketer with an online membership site. This video is not hosted on YouTube, but on Wistia, so we have no idea of the exact number of views.  Here’s where you can see the video: http://www.chrisfarrellmembership.com/ .  If a viewer puts their name/email into the box as requested in the opening video, then another “thank you” video plays where Chris Farrell then talks about his membership site.

- the second video is Brendan Burchard, author and founder of The High Performance Academy. This video is found on a homepage, and encourages viewers to put in their email to receive “6 High Performance Secrets of Multi-Millionaires” in a 3-part video training series. This video is hosted on YouTube, but you can see it on his webpage: http://www.highperformanceacademy.com/

- the third video is on the homepage of Vick Strizheus, an internet marketer with a “secret to success”.  This video invites you to enter your email to receive a series of videos that will explain his secret and change your life. Once your email address is entered, you’re directed to another video – the first in a series of three – where Vick begins to explain his secret. That’s as far as we got in this process.  I believe we’ll receive other videos as time passes…  Here’s where you can see the initial video: http://bigideamastermind.com/accidental710k/?id=delos

- the fourth video (if time permits) is on the homepage of Jonathan Budd, an internet marketer.  Again, this video is not hosted on YouTube, but on Amazon’s hosting service S3.  The video is meant to welcome the viewer, and direct you to put your name and email address into the box beside the video.  Once you’ve done that, you’re redirected to a page where you can watch a “feature” film about Jonathan Budd’s process, and download 2 PDF gifts and watch a 3rd video (voice-over/slide presentation) with an invitation to join his “Unstoppable Millionaire” program. Here’s where you can see the first video: http://jonathanbudd.com/  that we’ll be discussing.
